2013 marks the 50th Anniversary of Lamborghini: the company was born under the sign of Taurus, the Bull, with an eye constantly on the future, and a desire to attempt the impossible and to turn innovative design and technology into its hallmark.

Cars like the 350GT, the Miura, the Countach, the LM 002, and today’s Gallardo and Aventador are the perfect embodiment of a future ahead of its time.

“I want to build the perfect car” said FerruccioLamborghini as it gradually established itself as a brand of excellence in the automotive world.Today Lamborghini is a company which has remained true to its origins, yet is international in scope: operating in 45 countries, it boasts a network of over 125 dealers.

However, the heart of Lamborghini remains its headquarters and production facilities in Sant’Agata Bolognese – the very place where the cornerstone of the factory was laid in May 1963.

The first Toyota Celica 1600 ST emphasised styling, a complete equipment and driving pleasure.

Through seven generations (1970 – 2006) the model has gone through many revisions and
different body styles. From a rear wheel driven coupé to front and/or four
wheel drive sportscar.

Een uitzondering die de regel bevestigt  : de moto’s staan tijdens een tijdelijke tentoonstelling in maart en april in Autoworld in de spotlights. Een groot gedeelte komt uit de privé-verzameling van Dominique Moorkens. Tijdens deze eerste expo voor tweewielers in Autoworld zullen een 15-tal exemplaren in de zone op het einde van de “Blue Boulevard” in de kijker staan.

Het publiek kan er kennis maken met moto’s uit de verschillende periodes en segmenten, met o.a.

• De T500 die in 1967 verscheen, was de de doorbraak voor Suzuki. De tweecilinder tweetakt was net zo krachtig als een 750 twin uit die tijd maar veel lichter. Bovendien had de koppelrijke T500 een verrassend dociel karakter.
• AC50: Suzuki had in de tweede helft van de jaren ’60 al een paar wereldtitels in de 50 cc-categorie veroverd en gebruikte de daar opgedane kennis om er de goed presterende AS50 mee op punt te stellen. In 1970 werd deze afgelost door de legendarische AC50, een hit bij de jongeren. De AC50 werd getypeerd door de hoog oplopende ‘scrambler’ uitlaat, een onderaan afgeplatte koplamp en de door een roterende inlaat aangestuurde tweetaktmotor.
• De RE5 met Wankelmotor werd in 1974 als productiemodel op de markt gebracht. De massieve roterende eenheid van de RE5 was samen met de versnellingsbak vast opeengepakt in het frame. De Wankelmotor was dwars geplaatst, had één rotor en een kamerinhoud van 497 cc, wat gesymboliseerd werd door de 5 in de typeaanduiding.
• De GS750 zette in 1976 een nieuwe standaard neer. De krachtige viercilinder met zijn dubbele bovenliggende nokkenas koppelde een hoog vermogen aan een voor die tijd voor Japanse motorfietsen ongekende wegligging.
• De GSX-R750 werd gelanceerd in 1985 en was de allereerste race-replica ooit en vormde de basis voor het Supersport-segment zoals we dat vandaag ook nog kennen. Dankzij een stroomlijn, aluminium wiegframe en remmen afgeleid van Suzuki’s Endurance machines, een compromisloze zithouding en een indrukwekkend olie-luchtgekoeld motorblok was de GSX-R met geen enkele andere productiemotor te vergelijken.

De tijdelijke tentoonstelling « Suzuki Classics » houdt nog enkele andere verrassingen in petto.

Depuis plusieurs années, le musée Autoworld consacre son mois de février à la coccinelle. Cette année ne fera pas exception et l’on pourra y admirer, du 7 au 24 février, 3 expositions autour de ce thème.

Elles sont souvent drôles et toujours pleine de créativité et de bonhomie… les anciennes « réclames » et les publicités d’aujourd’hui ont fait de la coccinelle VW une des voitures les plus sympathiques au monde.

Les meilleures d’entre elles – imprimées et animées – seront exposées durant tout le mois de février à Autoworld.

Une histoire de Cox en dix voitures emblématiques

Une dizaine de modèles retraçant son histoire, depuis l’une des 30 fameuses type 30 conçues par Ferdinand Porsche en 1937 à la Beetle du 21è siècle, en passant par quelques « binocles » célèbres ou encore « l’Africaine » évoquant la traversée Bruxelles-Léopoldville et retour en 1950 de Pierre D’Ieteren, Jacques Swaters, Jacques Cortvriendt et Christian Nicolaï de Gorhez,

Tout mini… encore plus sympathique !

Et pour couronner l’ensemble, des vitrines présenteront des modèles réduits mis en scène dans de superbes dioramas.

The Lancia Club Belgio celebrated already its 30th Anniversary. Founded on the Brussels Racing Show around a Lancia Stratos in 1977 thanks to a few Lancia enthusiasts, who organized a few excursions every year. A few years later the club became officialised with a publication of the statutes in the Belgian Statute-book.    In other words, Lancia Club Belgio is one of the oldest brand clubs in Belgium.

The club accepted with great pleasure the invitation of Autoworld, to organise an exhibition with an overview of the most relevant models.

The BFOV organized from November 12 until December 2 2012 an exhibition to celebrate the 70the anniversary of Willys Jeep.
The Willys MB is the icon of the US Army.

The Willys MB is almost similar with the Ford GPW and was produced between 1942 and 1945. The US Army named this type of vehicle ‘GP’ abbreviation of ‘General Purpose’. In the history the famous Willys Jeeps will always be associated with the Second World War.

Si tout le monde connaît le célèbre « garage » Citroën de la Place de l’Yser, ce que l’on sait moins, c’est que, pendant 54 ans, on a construit (presque) tous les modèles de la marque à Forest (Bruxelles).

Ce sont quelques-uns des véhicules les plus emblématiques, témoins de la fabrication de cette usine, qui seront exposés durant un mois dans le cadre prestigieux du musée Autoworld, grâce à la complicité de collectionneurs membres des clubs de la marque aux chevrons.

The Ferrari Club Belgio celebrates its 40th anniversary during a festive week-end which starts at Autoworld Brussels on Saturday, June 9.

In case you are interested in cars bearing the Prancing Horse and would like to see some of the jewels of the Ferrari brand and listen to the roar of exceptional engines, do come and join us at Autoworld on June 9. As of 11.30am, a few dozen of Ferrari’s will gather in front of Autoworld before leaving at around 2.00pm for the start of a festive week-end.

12.02.2012 – une date symbolique pour la 4è Love Bugs Parade

Il y a tant de « 2 » (symbole du couple) dans cette date que ce jour semble particulièrement bien choisi pour vivre la désormais traditionnelle Love Bugs Parade qui se déroule le dimanche précédant la Fête de la Saint-Valentin !

Tous les amoureux des légendaires « Herbie’s » (la « 53 ») mais aussi des autres Coccinelles, Kevers, Käfer, Vocho, Fusca, Maggiolino, Ultima Edicion, Beetle… sont attendues dès 13 heures sur l’Esplanade du Cinquantenaire, devant le musée Autoworld, pour prendre possession de leurs plaques rallye et des détails de l’itinéraire bruxellois.
