The 1950s… the Second World War is over. America is flourishing economically and culturally. This is the time when Elvis Presley becomes the “King of Rock ’n’ Roll”, rebel actor James Dean is tragically killed in his Porsche Speedster and Grace Kelly is crowned Princess of Monaco. The automobile sector is thriving, too. These are its golden years in the United States. Design becomes more important and cars are seen as true works of art. The ever-larger rear wings and the return of the super-de-luxe car bear witness to this.
During the month of October, we are delighted to present a number of well-known and typical American convertibles from the 1950s, including the 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air, the 1953 Buick Skylark and the 1957 Ford Thunderbird.
This beautiful collection of “American Convertibles” is represented by the oldtimerclub “Forties and Fifties – American Cars Enthusiasts”.
