50 years ago, in San Francisco, the “ Summer of Love “ushered in the birth of the “Flower Power” movement that peaked in 1969 with the Woodstock festival.
To pay tribute to this nostalgic era that would lead to the “hippie” movement, the temporary exhibition to be held at Autoworld in February will showcase the legendary Combi T1 that accompanied this movement throughout those years.
Some of these examples were beautifully decorated with flowers of all colours and hippie motifs. Fabled vehicle, the Combi is a small extremely polyvalent van fitted with an air-cooled engine. It has always been synonymous with escape and freedom and has crisscrossed all the roads of the globe. On its journeys it was also regularly accompanied by the impish VW Beetle.
The exhibition will allow one to (re)live that era of freedom, music and togetherness !
