A little more patience and our museum will be like new. The Public Buildings Agency started the renovation work to the roof of the Autoworld museum on 1st February 2021. This is the third and penultimate phase of the renovation of the museums on the Cinquantenaire site.
A first section of the roof has already been entirely renovated and the new stained-glass windows allow the light to superbly illuminate the entire left side. Now time to tackle the right-hand side. Just a few more months and you will be dazzled!
Following the latest governmental relaxations, Autoworld is in the throes of preparing an end-of-summer which promises to be well filled. The ideal opportunity to meet the museum’s “Events” duo, Lauren and Alex.
This young duo ensures the smooth running of events not organised by the museum, because Autoworld is also known, in events’ jargon, as a Green Key awarded “Special Venue".
To pay tribute to the 100th anniversary of our ‘national’ Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, more than 45 racing cars and motorbikes are exhibited, all having played a major role, in fact won competitions. In order to remain in line with the theme, the museum opted to transform the “Sport & Competition” and “Design Story” zones on the first floor into a large paddock where visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves into the history of our Ardennes circuit, which all countries are envious of, and which drivers and the general public quite rightly state as being “the greatest circuit in the world”.
The exhibition is built on the three themes which have given the circuit its international standing: the Grand Prix of Formula 1, the 1000 Kms/Spa 6 Hours and, it goes without saying, the 24 Hours.
To complete the record of achievements, on display an insight of all the winners in 1:43 scale model f...
The life-size Bburago boxes keep on coming but are never alike. It’s now the turn of the Ferrari 275 GTB from 1965 to fit into its “Box” in the heart of Autoworld.
This is a front-engined GT with two-seater coupé body designed by Pininfarina and produced between 1964 and 1968. Colombo designed 60° V12 engine. The 275 series were the first road-going Ferraris equipped with a transaxle and independent rear suspension. Among the greatest Ferraris of all time.
And, as usual, you will find his 1:24 scale Bburago miniature in our shop.
