AUTOWORLD’S 40TH ANNIVERSARY

On Sunday, October 4, Autoworld celebrated its 40th anniversary with the general public, under beautiful late-summer sunshine. Enthusiasts, collectors, families and car lovers turned out in large numbers to join us for a wonderful day of celebration in front of and inside the museum.

The Cars & Coffee – Birthday Edition was a tremendous success, with more than 450 vehicles gathering on the Esplanade. Classic cars, youngtimers and more unexpected models provided a spectacular show for everyone to enjoy.

Our jury also toured the Esplanade to select their favourites. Eight cars were awarded prizes:

🏆 Pre-war - Citroën Traction Cabriolet (1936)
🏆 1950s - Oldsmobile Futuramic Rocket 88 Coupé (1950)
🏆 1960s - Abarth 850 TC (1967)
🏆 1970s - Porsche 911 T Targa Ölklappe (1972)
🏆 1980s - TVR Taimar (1980)
🏆 1990s - Lada Samara (1995)
🏆 Jury's Favourite - Toyota BJ42 (1983)
🏆 Best of Show - BMW 503 Coupé (1958)

Inside the museum, a few VIP visitors on four wheels were also in attendance: the Ferrari Monza SP2 and SP3, Bugatti Chiron and Aston Martin Valkyrie, exceptionally brought together for the occasion.

And of course, there were also the guided tours and the many beautifully made-up children, who added even more colour to this festive day.

Many of you also took the opportunity to enjoy rides in cars from the Autoworld collection, including the 1966 Ford Mustang, 1989 Ferrari Testarossa and 1954 Cadillac Series 62 ‘State Limousine’. Your enthusiastic reactions truly meant a lot to us!

A wonderful day dedicated to cars, encounters and a shared passion for motoring, just as we had hoped for to celebrate our 40th anniversary.

A huge thank you to all our many visitors and participants, as well as our partners, clubs, volunteers and team members, for making this day such a wonderful celebration!
