Porsche - Driven By Dreams: A Dream Success

On Sunday 25 February, Autoworld marked the festive end of the 'Porsche - Driven By Dreams' exposition. With a special 'Cars & Coffee', hundreds of Porsches and other classic cars gathered in the Cinquantenaire Park to wave goodbye to the never-before-seen collection of unique Porsches. The exhibition recorded an impressive turnout of over 73,500 visitors, setting yet another record for Autoworld.

'Porsche - Driven By Dreams' debuted on December 8, 2023. The showcase of 60 Porsches, never before seen in Belgium, in a separate and captivating setting immediately resonated with the public.

Through the stories of several international and national 'Dreamers,' individuals with a special connection to the Porsche brand, the concept was highlighted. Legends such as our Belgian pride, Jacky Ickx, were featured, along with Brussels street artist Vexx, who delivered a live art performance during one of the events. Additionally, photo artist Bart Kuykens, in honor of this exhibition, curated a selection of his 20 most iconic photos showcased in a true art gallery.

The allure was further enhanced by special events, including the 'Preview Night' – a nocturne where various Porsches echoed their engines, attracting enthusiasts in large numbers. Brussels Expertise Labels' (BEL) 'A Journey of Expertise' event seamlessly connected everything unique about Brussels – its smells, colors, tastes, and products – with the undeniable quality of Porsche. Autoworld proudly became a recent member of the BEL association

A perennial favorite, the traditional 'Love Bugs Parade,' saw hundreds of Volkswagen Beetles in all their diversity descend upon Autoworld on February 11. This year's theme, 'Driven By Love,' emphasized the familial connection between Porsche and its VW Beetle ancestor, resulting in an outstanding edition.

The closing 'Cars & Coffee' on February 25 was no exception. Over 420 Porsches and classic cars added a festive touch to the final day of 'Porsche - Driven By Dreams.'

The Kids Corner proved to be a success, allowing the youngest visitors to unleash their creativity during weekends and holidays by constructing dream Porsches with Lego bricks, coloring in drawn Porsches, and bringing them to life with a special projector.

Visitors were also encouraged to showcase their creativity through the Photo Contest and Photo Workshop. The photos garnered massive shares on social media, and the top three photographers were honored during the Cars & Coffee, with their work immortalized.

'Porsche - Driven By Dreams' was far from a static event. On the 'Born2Drive' racing simulator, the quest for the fastest virtual Porsche racer unfolded. A total of 972 candidates tested their skills on a digital rendition of the mythical Spa-Francorchamps. In a thrilling final on February 17, Calogero Lopez emerged as the dominant force among the nine finalists.

In total, 'Porsche - Driven By Dreams' drew more than 73.500 visitors to Autoworld, marking an unprecedented success. Autoworld has commenced 2024 on a high note, and the momentum continues with a new temporary expo starting on March 1. With 'VW Golf 50th Anniversary,' Autoworld gathers around 15 VW Golfs to celebrate this milestone. Events, including a Cars & Coffee on March 24, reaffirm Autoworld's commitment to being 'more than a museum'.

Autoworld extends gratitude to Porsche Belgium, the Porsche Museum, all partners of the exhibition, the owners of exhibited Porsches, the 'Dreamers,' and all those who contributed directly or indirectly. Special thanks to the numerous visitors who made 'Porsche - Driven By Dreams' an unparalleled success
