Opening Party German Tuners ’80s–’90s

AN OPENING PARTY THAT SET THE TONE FOR A VIBRANT EXHIBITION

On Friday 5 September, we kicked off our brand-new exhibition German Tuners from the ’80s & ’90s. And we didn’t do it quietly: more than 400 visitors gathered for a lively opening party to get a first glimpse of this unique expo.

The official launch was marked by inspiring speeches from Sebastien de Baere and Christopher Butt. Their words highlighted how car tuning in the ’80s and ’90s was not just about technical ingenuity, but also a cultural movement. A true celebration of creativity, freedom and craftsmanship – perfectly in tune with the exhibition.

The stage came alive with a dynamic performance by DTS Compagnie, offering a sneak preview of their act for Museum Night Fever on 18 October. De Vierkante Meter added an intense and moving performance of their own. And of course, the dance floor was buzzing: a DJ kept the energy high with the best hits from the ’80s and ’90s, turning the evening into a full-on party.

The opening night proved that 'German Tuners from the ’80s & ’90s' is more than an exhibition: it’s an experience that brings people together. With such a strong start, we look forward to the coming weeks, when visitors can further explore how the tuning scene of the ’80s and ’90s left its mark on design and culture.
