Chosen by the public from among the iconic cars in Autoworld’s history, the Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach is making its much-anticipated return to the museum for the ‘40 Years - Looking Back to the Future’ exhibition.

With its 887 hp hybrid powertrain, the Porsche 918 Spyder marked a turning point in the history of hypercars. Its 4.6-litre naturally aspirated V8, derived from motorsport, is combined with two electric motors driving all four wheels. The result: 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 345 km/h.

The Weissach version, on display at Autoworld, takes performance even further with extensive use of carbon fibre, magnesium wheels and optimised aerodynamics. In 2013, a 918 Weissach completed the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6 minutes 57 seconds, becoming the first road-legal production car to break the seven-minute barrier. With just 918 examples produced, the 918 Spyder remains one of the most exclusive and technologically advanced Porsches ever built.
