With its 887 hp plug-in hybrid powertrain, the Porsche 918 Spyder ranks among the most technologically advanced sports cars of its era. Its 4.6-litre naturally aspirated V8, derived from the racing engine of the RS Spyder, is combined with two electric motors: one driving the front wheels and the other the rear wheels. This architecture allows the 918 Spyder to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 345 km/h.

Only 918 examples were produced between 2013 and 2015. The 918 Spyder was also available with the highly exclusive Weissach Package, designed to maximise performance. Magnesium wheels, extensive use of carbon fibre and titanium fasteners, among other lightweight components, reduced the car’s weight by approximately 40 kg.

The 918 Spyder also made history at the Nürburgring. In 2013, a Weissach-equipped example completed the legendary circuit in 6 minutes and 57 seconds, becoming the first road-legal production car to break the seven-minute barrier.

Good to know: Porsche never officially disclosed how many of the 918 cars were equipped with the Weissach Package. Available estimates suggest around 230 to 300 examples, making this version particularly rare.
