Autoworld’s Sustainability Policy

Since 2014, Autoworld has been working together with the Green Key Label to reduce its carbon footprint. 
This label indeed rewards meeting and event venues that contribute to a socially and environmentally sustainable society.

Sustainability is a core element of Autoworld’s operations. Despite being located in a historic and protected building within the Parc du Cinquantenaire, we have been taking concrete steps for years to reduce our ecological footprint—always within the possibilities offered by this unique heritage environment.

One of our most significant recent achievements was the complete replacement of the museum’s lighting in 2023. Since then, the collection has been illuminated using energy-efficient, environmentally friendly spotlights. In addition, we closely monitor both water and electricity consumption. Internal guidelines are in place to help prevent unnecessary use, in both the exhibition areas and the offices.

In our offices, we keep paper usage to an absolute minimum: we only print when strictly necessary and always on eco-friendly paper. We use sustainable cleaning products and follow a strict waste management policy with proper sorting. Caterers responsible for events are required to take their waste with them and dispose of it responsibly.

Autoworld collaborates as much as possible with local suppliers and expects its long-term partners—such as the on-site brasserie and caterers—to implement sustainable practices as well. This shared responsibility strengthens our collective commitment to a greener future.

As a proud Green Key label partner, we remain committed to continuous improvement. In 2026, renovation works are planned under the supervision of the Belgian Buildings Agency, including the installation of double glazing. At the same time, Autoworld is investing in the sustainable renewal of its scenography.

In doing so, we combine our cultural mission with a proactive ecological vision—respecting heritage, people, and the planet alike.

To you, our visitors, we ask that you do every little thing to make your visit to Autoworld as responsible as possible. For example, you can reach us by public transport or bicycle. You can avoid unnecessary waste and don't forget to sort it properly.
