A legendary sports car, produced between 1966 and 1973 by the Italian car manufacturer Lamborghini. The car was designed by Marcello Gandini for Bertone. It was the first mass-produced high-performance car to feature a transversely mounted mid-engine at the rear and rear-wheel drive, a configuration that has since become the standard for performance-oriented sports cars.

At its introduction, the Miura was the fastest production car in the world. The rolling chassis of the Miura was presented at the 1965 Turin Motor Show, while the P400 prototype made its debut at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show. The car received an exceptionally enthusiastic reception from both the public and the automotive press, who were impressed by its elegant design and revolutionary mid-engine configuration.

The Miura was continuously developed throughout its production years and remained in production until 1973. A total of 764 examples were built between 1966 and 1973. For many, the Miura is considered the first true supercar with a centrally mounted engine.
