40 YEARS, 105 EXHIBITIONS AND MORE THAN 2,000 CARS ON DISPLAY

From 11 September to 13 December, Autoworld is bringing back to the museum the crème de la crème from more than 100 temporary exhibitions. These are cars and motorcycles that have been showcased over the years in one of Autoworld’s many exhibitions, each with a special connection to the museum’s history.

'Autoworld 40 Years - Looking Back to the Future' will not be a traditional retrospective exhibition, but rather an eclectic and surprising look back at 40 years of Autoworld. Visitors will discover vehicles ranging from the pre-war era to modern supercars, including the Bugatti Type 35, the Lamborghini Miura, the rare Muntz Jet, the unique Toyota 2000GT Targa from the James Bond film, the Citroën DS 'volante', and the Porsche 918.

The latter is here at the request of the public. In July, Autoworld asked visitors which cars they would like to see back in the museum. The responses were enthusiastic and particularly diverse, but one thing was clear once again: supercars remain hugely popular. The Porsche 918 clearly stood out as the most requested car. We are therefore delighted to announce its presence.

For each car, a reference indicates the exhibition in which it was previously displayed. The exhibition will also feature a wall showcasing all the exhibitions organised by Autoworld over the years. A short video will look back at 40 years of Autoworld through images, highlights and memories that have marked the museum’s history.
