Porsche. Is there any name that makes you dream more? After the 2013 exhibition 'Porsche - Electric to Electric' and 'Porsche 356 - 70 Years', Autoworld continues its successful cooperation with Porsche Belgium and the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart with 'Porsche - Driven By Dreams.' With this exhibition, Autoworld aims to show the most beautiful dream stories from the rich Porsche history in 6 separate themes, grouping together 60 Porsches, often never before shown in Belgium.

Unseen: From Concept to Model

Reality often starts with a dream. Every Porsche with a concept. Autoworld collects 9 Porsche concept cars never before exhibited in Belgium and shows them alongside the production model

One of the concept cars is the 911 Speedster Concept, presented for the brand's 70th anniversary. With its low windscreen, lowered dashboard, 'double bubble', this concept refers to the original 365 Speedster, but equally to the 1988 911 Speedster.

911 Line Up 60th Anniversary

911. The figure of the ultimate dream car turns 60 and that calls for a separate theme within 'Porsche - Driven By Dreams,' with yet another unique collection spanning eight generations of 'Nine Eleven'.

The Porsche 930 Turbo is perhaps the ultimate 'poster Porsche,' and one of the ultimate supercars. As one of the first series cars to be fitted with a turbocharger, it gained a somewhat bad reputation, but that may just enhance the 930 Turbo's mythical status.

Art

Porsches are art and inspire artists. The renowned Belgian street artist Vexx, known for the temporary Porsche Vision Gran Turismo, will be present exclusively for Autoworld with an activation around Porsche. Another artist, renowned photographer Bart Kuykens, will exhibit works in which the Porsche 911 invariably plays a prominent role. And movie director Michaël R. Roskam will show how Porsches have their part to play in film.

The Porsche Vision Gran Turismo is a study model built at the request of Sony Playstation to be part of the legendary racing game Gran Turismo. This lifelike variant was artfully coloured by world-renowned Belgian street artist Vexx.

Heritage

Ferdinand Porsche's dream spans a long history, from the very first 356 'Gmund,' built in a barn in the village of the same name in Austria, to other classics that helped turn Ferdinand Porsche's dream into reality.

The Porsche 356 'Gmund' is among the very first mass-produced Porsche 365s. Before Porsche moved to Stuttgart, these were built in a former sawmill in the Austrian town of Gmund, hence the 356 'Gmund.

Motorsport

Other brands can only dream of Porsche's success in motorsport. Of course, the Porsches that have been instrumental in those successes cannot be missing with winners like the RS61, over the mythical 917 to the 919Hybrid. Of course, the Belgian input is not forgotten with racing legends such as Jacky Ickx, Thierry Boutsen and Laurens Vanthoor.

In 2018, the Porsche 911 RSR ‘Pink Pig’ competed in the mythical 24h of Le Mans in the WEC class with Belgian Laurens Vanthoor behind the wheel. The 'Pink Pig' is a reference to the Porsche 917/20 of the same name, which was painted in the same, distinct colours, namely the cut-up of a pig by butchers.

Dakar Universe

It was Jacky Ickx who made Porsche dream of the famous Dakar Rally. A dream that once again came true with the 959, among others. Autoworld honours Porsche's successful Dakar past in a separate, gritty universe of the exhibition.

The Porsche 959 Paris-Dakar took victory in the 1986 Dakar Rally with Réné Metge, ahead of Jacky Ickx's similar model, which made Porsche dream of the Dakar Rally two years earlier, leading to a victory with the 953 in 1984, again with Metge at the wheel.
